Job description

About your role and your team

As a Software Engineer for Video Backend, you manage the software development process for our Video products.
You write and maintain software documentation. You provide training on software development and research new software development technologies.
You work closely with our Product and Delivery team to deliver the best possible software product to our customers.
We are customer-obsessed.

Your mission at Cenareo

DESIGN, DEVELOP AND TEST SOFTWARE - 60%

You write code. You debug the software and find and fix errors in the code.
You test the software, ensuring that it meets the requirements.
You deploy the software, making it available to users.
You work with queues such as Celery to implement asynchronous tasks.
You use message brokers for video tasks (celery or equivalent).
You use databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
You deploy and maintain web applications (Django or equivalent).
You monitor and troubleshoot web applications.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT - 30%

You work with other engineers and internal stakeholders to ensure that the software meets the needs of the organization.
You stay up-to-date on new technologies to ensure they are using the latest and most effective technologies.
You document the software, including the code, the design, and the tests.

CONTINUOUS PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT - 10%

You consistently gather knowledge and define the industry’s best practices.
You gather and introduce new and relevant tools and information on factors such as documentation practices, scalability, KPI...
You participate in continuing education and training to remain on top of the best practices

Profile

Your skill set

You have strong Python or C++ experience (Python is preferred)
You have After Effects or FFmpeg (using video filters) experience
You have proven problem-solving skills. You identify and solve software problems. You think creatively and come up with innovative solutions.
You communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including the delivery team and the business team.
You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
You are a proactive team player and you are happy working in a learning environment.
