Job description

Sigfox USA is looking for a Staff Accountant to support the company’s US Accounting Team. The position will be responsible for preparing cash and general ledger reconciliations, including AP, AR, Prepaids, Accruals, Inventory, Fixed Assets and Intercompany. This position will also be involved with employee travel and expense, including reviewing for compliance and preparing check/ACH payments. The Staff Accountant will also assist the Accounting Manager in more complex accounting areas including revenue recognition and lease accounting. The position will also the Accounting Team in working to solve the increasingly complex accounting considerations facing a growing technology company. In this role the Staff Accountant will see the complete foundation and operations of the business.

  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly close process, in accordance with US GAAP including but not limited to: cash, AR, prepaids, inventory, fixed assets, AP, accruals, deferred expense
  • Track, compile, and record project costs in fixed asset accounts and maintain all related reconciliations, including depreciation
  • Assess asset retirement obligation calculations and make recommendations to adjust based on data
  • Assist US Logistics team in reconciling Inventory Accounts and valuation
  • Assist in performing inventory counts in our warehouse locations, as necessary.
  • Prepare relevant schedules to track sales projects, to ensure appropriate revenue and cost recognition in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform the monthly consolidation of US Financial Statements for review by Accounting Manager & Controller
  • Assist in annual audits, tax filings and ad hoc reporting requirements, including preparing relevant support working with outside auditors on accounting and reporting issues.
  • Maintaining all internal controls and financial policies and procedures and develop new processes as deficiencies are identified.
  • Work collaboratively with other teams across the business, such as Sales, Legal, Logistics and Network Engineering.
  • Perform other financial reporting or ad hoc projects, as necessary.

Profile

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience, Prior fixed asset / inventory experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Team player who takes initiative and works constructively with others to achieve team goals
  • Ability to work independently and in a hybrid team setting.
  • Excellent planning, prioritization, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience working with SAP a plus.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP 
  • Authorization to work in the United States
